Start a session dbus that can be accessed remotely: nohup dbus-daemon --config-file=session.conf & export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=tcp:port=4253 ./domotcl Then in all remote shells that do domotcl related things: export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=tcp:host=eeepc,port=4253 Autostart domotcl: Copy domotcl.service to /usr/share/dbus-1/services
